Elina Robeva

Elina Robeva is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of British Columbia. She joined the department in 2019. Prior to that she was a Statistics Instructor and NSF postdoc at MIT. She received her PhD in Math from UC Berkeley in 2016. Elina works in theoretical statistics. More precisely, she studies graphical models, causality, hidden variable models and nonparametric density estimation. She often applies tools from algebra, geometry, and combinatorics towards the successful solution of statistical problems.
