Anantha P. Chandrakasan

Anantha P. Chandrakasan is dean of the MIT School of Engineering and the Vannevar Bush Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He serves as co-chair of the MIT–IBM Watson AI Lab, MIT-Takeda Program, and MIT and Accenture Convergence Initiative for Industry and Technology, and chair of the MIT Climate Sustainability Consortium. Chandrakasan was previously a board member of The Engine, the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, and the director of the Microsystems Technology Laboratories. A fellow of IEEE, he was elected in 2015 to the National Academy of Engineering and in 2019 to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. He earned a BS, an MS, and a PhD in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley. He serves on the Board of Analog Devices Inc., the SMART Governing Board, and the Board of Trustees of the Perkins School for the Blind.
